What SOIL are YOU?

HEY MUNCHERS!!!

 

Let's talk about SOIL today... What kind of SOIL are you???

 

You: What talking you??? I'm a human and not SOIL la...

 

Me: Let's read from Matthew 13:4-9

⁴As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. ⁵Some fell on rockyplaces, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. ⁶But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. ⁷Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. ⁸Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. ⁹He who has ears, let him hear."
Me: Are you a SOIL ON A PATH or ROCKY SOIL or THORNY SOIL or GOOD SOIL?
Me: Why did God even talk about SOIL? I don't think He put in the bible for FUN... Let's read from Matthew 13:19-23
¹⁹When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. ²⁰The one who received the seed that fell onrocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. ²¹But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. ²²The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. ²³But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."
Me: Question to PONDER upon... WHAT KIND OF SOIL YOU WANT TO BE?

Our Refiner and Purifier

Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'      

 This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character andnature of God..  

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.      

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.  

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says:  ' He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time.  

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know  when the silver is fully refined?'

He smiled at her and answered, ' Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.'

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.  

Pass this on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them.

And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end.

' Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.'

Don't you think God is so awesome... yes He wants to refine us... but it had never came across His mind to just leave us burning in the fire... He watches our us... sometimes when we felt that we were left in the fire... our thought is... "GOD ARE U THERE?" and many times we think that He is not there... I hope this story gives you a better understanding... and appreciate the "FIRE" times... :)

Our Spiritual Condition

Many times, we do not just put God in that little box... but we also put ourself in that little box... Is that really what we are suppose to do? We often thinks that we are only capable of doing so LITTLE!!! We are fearful... Are you allowing God to mould and stretch you? Or are we happy about where we are and want to remain at where we are?

God desire us to go the distant... He doesn't want us to under estimate our potential... But He wants us to make full use of our potential... It might be painful at times... But the question is are we willing? We can never think that we have done enough, God wants us to have more faith...

Sometimes, we even think that we can't move on... We can't grow spiritually... THESE ARE JUST OUR OWN THOUGHTS!!! But are we taking an initiative to make things happen?

WE NEED TO GROW DEEPER SPIRITUALLY!!! WE CANNOT STAY COMPLACENT.

GOD SAYS: if you have a faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains...

We need to pray that we will be believers just like those believers at Pentecost!

The New Cell Materials: The Case For Faith

We are going to start a new series of cell materials starting from today... We will be using the material called "the case for faith"... This book teaches us on apologetics (how we can defend our faith)... Do you have burning questions like "how can a loving God exists when evil and suffering exist?"

Munchers' Cell Outing

On 27 Aug 2010 (Friday), the Munchers Cell Group went for our cell outing... 

Since is Munchers... Of course we went to MUNCH!!! 

We were at AMK for our super duper YUMMY STEAMBOAT... 

It was a great time of bonding and fellowship... Kicking school work aside just for that few hours and enjoy ourself... :)
